Don't get so wrapped up in holiday festivities that you miss some of the great grant opportunities that opened this week. There's a lot of good stuff in this week's list, and we've highlighted three opportunities below.
Several Head Start grants opened as did more more funding related to NASA's annual research programming. The National Endowment for the Arts opened two opportunities intended to exposing underserved populations to the arts. Funding for research into developmental disabilities, including education and service, is available in two different opportunities, and a Department of Commerce grant offers funding for Alaskan pinniped research.

National Endowment for the Humanities
Grant Title: Summer Seminars and Institutes for K-12 Educators

Details: NEH Summer Seminars and Institutes for K-12 Educators provide school teachers with opportunities to broaden and deepen their engagement with the humanities. One- to four-week residential programs, led by scholars and K-12 professionals, allow participants to study a variety of humanities topics. Seminars and Institutes focus on the intellectual quality of humanities education and address recent developments in scholarship, teaching, and/or curriculum. A similar funding program is available for higher education faculty.

Grant Title: Research Grants for Preventing Violence and Violence-Related Injury

Details: The investigator-initiated research program will help expand and advance understanding about how to prevent violence that impacts children and youth, including child abuse and neglect, teen dating violence, sexual violence, youth violence, youth/parent suicidal behavior, and exposure to adult intimate partner violence. This initiative is intended to support the evaluation of primary prevention strategies, programs, or policies that target universal or selected high-risk populations
