Featured Grants Week of 5/29/19

It seems the spigot has been scaled back a little. This week saw fewer federal funding opportunities open than any week in recent months. Perhaps the Memorial Day holiday slowed things down, but it's also true that the summer months usually don't see as many grants opening as in the spring and fall. 

Even so, there are nearly 40 funding opportunities for your review. See them all here or glance at the three we've highlighted below.

Department of Agriculture
Grant Title: Rural Housing Preservation Grant

Details: 
The Housing Preservation Grant program provides qualified public agencies, private nonprofit organizations, and other eligible entities grant funds to assist very low- and low-income homeowners in repairing and rehabilitating their homes in rural areas. In addition, the HPG program assists rental property owners and cooperative housing complexes in repairing and rehabilitating their units if they agree to make such units available to low- and very low-income persons. 

National Endowment for the Arts
Grant Title: Our Town FY 2020

Our Town is the National Endowment for the Arts’ creative placemaking grants program. Through project-based funding, the program supports projects that integrate arts, culture, and design activities into efforts that strengthen communities by advancing local economic, physical, and/or social outcomes. Successful Our Town projects ultimately lay the groundwork for systemic changes that sustain the integration of arts, culture, and design into local strategies for strengthening communities. These projects require a partnership between a local government entity and nonprofit organization, one of which must be a cultural organization; and should engage in partnership with other sectors (such as agriculture and food, economic development, education and youth, environment and energy, health, housing, public safety, transportation, and workforce development.

Department of Education
Grant Title: Preparation of Special Education, Early Intervention, and Related Services Leadership Personnel

Details:
The program helps address state-identified needs for personnel preparation in special education, early intervention, related services, and regular education to work with children, including infants and toddlers, with disabilities. it also ensures that those personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge, derived from practices that have been determined through scientifically based research and experience, to be successful in serving those children.
